INCREASES BOTH HIGHWAY AND
CITY MILEAGE RATINGS

HELPS TO DECREASE EMMISSIONS

OPERATES ON AVERAGE 20 DEGREES
COOLER THAN A RING & PINION

LARGE AFTERMARKET POTENTIAL
The SpinCo automotive prototype operated at 900 less engine
RPM as compared to the ring & pinion gear at highway speeds
(55mph to 70mph) with overdrive off.

Testing was performed on a DynoJet Model 248x which has a timing accuracy of +/- 1 microsecond, a RPM
accuracy of +/- 0.1 RPM, and a speed accuracy of +/- 0.01 mph. Data from the engines computer (PCM) was
gathered using a lap top computer and ProScan software. Dynamometer results and PCM/ProScan data were
matched according to run and then compared. The results are as follows:

With the SpinCo gear installed the engine required less rpm under all driving conditions in first gear to
achieve the same speed as compared to the ring & pinion. The on-board computer (PCM) calculated between
10 to 30% less engine load for first gear testing.

With the SpinCo gear installed the engine required less rpm under all driving conditions in second gear to
achieve the same speed as compared to the ring & pinion. The on-board computer (PCM) calculated between
20 to 30% less engine load for second gear testing.

With the SpinCo gear installed the engine required less rpm during all tests in drive to achieve the same speed
as compared to the ring & pinion. The on-board computer (PCM) calculated
14% less engine load for tests performed in drive.
